Heads up: our NutriPass diabetes workshops are on pause — coming back soon. Al-Maun’s other food & nutrition work keeps running year-round. Here’s what’s available now.

Food & Nutrition

Good food, all year.

Food Pantry

Groceries and fresh produce every week — no ID, no cost. Walk in at 711 Morgan Ave.

Farmers Market

Fresh, affordable produce brought right to the Historic Westside.

Community Garden

Food grown right on the block — some of it goes straight to the pantry table.

Grocery Delivery for Seniors

For homebound neighbors who can’t get out — groceries brought to the door.

On pause

NutriPass Diabetes Workshops

Free, hands-on workshops to prevent & manage Type 2 diabetes — paused while we secure the grant, and coming back soon. See how it works →  or  email us to hear when it returns.

How it works

Like a passport — stamp by stamp.

Managing your health shouldn't feel like homework. The Nutrition Passport turns it into small, doable wins. You show up, you try one thing, you pass it on — and you collect your “stamps” along the way.

  1. Learn — come to a free workshop and pick up one simple idea. Bring the family.
  2. Do — try it at home. Track a habit, cook a recipe, take a short walk. Small steps, real progress.
  3. Share — tell a neighbor what worked, or bring a friend to the next workshop. Kindness travels.

The program

Three levels, at your pace.

Start wherever you are. Each level is a little step forward — and there's no wrong place to begin.

Level 1 · Learn

Come to a workshop

The fundamentals, made friendly.

  • Reading food labels without the guesswork
  • Portions & smart swaps for everyday meals
  • Spotting hidden sugar — and cutting back
  • Simple, affordable cooking you'll actually use

Level 2 · Do

Put it into practice

Turn one idea into a habit.

  • Track a simple habit, one day at a time
  • Try a new recipe from the workshop
  • Finish small health activities & challenges
  • Move a little more — a walk counts
  • Celebrate the wins, however small

Level 3 · Share

Pass it on

Health spreads best neighbor-to-neighbor.

  • Share what you learned with family
  • Cook a healthier meal for someone you love
  • Bring a friend or neighbor to a workshop
  • Encourage each other to keep going
  • Become a familiar, friendly face in the room
