Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Al-Maun Neighborly Needs respects the people we serve and the people who support us — and that includes respecting your information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This is a template prepared for the website redesign. Al-Maun should review and adapt it with legal counsel before publishing.

  11. How to contact us

Al-Maun Neighborly Needs (“Al-Maun,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the humanitarian arm of Masjid As-Sabur, serving neighbors on the Historic Westside of Las Vegas. When you visit our website or take part in our programs, you may share information with us. We are grateful for that trust and handle your information with care. By using our site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a form on our site — for example a volunteer sign-up, an event RSVP, a workshop or Nutrition Passport registration, a contact message, or a donation — we collect the details you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any message or preferences you share.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you updates about our work, events, and ways to help.

Donations

When you make a donation, your payment is handled by a trusted third-party payment processor. Your card and billing details are entered directly with that processor and are not stored on our servers. We receive a record of your gift — such as the amount, date, and your name and contact information — so we can thank you and send a receipt.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we may automatically collect limited technical information — such as your browser type, device, general location (city or region), and how you move through our pages — using cookies and analytics tools. This helps us keep the site working and understand what’s useful.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your messages, RSVPs, and requests;
  • coordinate volunteer scheduling and program participation;
  • process donations and send tax receipts;
  • send newsletters and updates you have asked to receive;
  • understand how our site is used so we can improve it;
  • keep the records a nonprofit organization is expected to maintain; and
  • comply with applicable laws.

We do not sell your personal information — ever.

3. How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us operate, and only as much as they need to do their job. These may include:

  • our payment processor, to complete and record donations;
  • our email / newsletter provider, to deliver the messages you subscribed to; and
  • our website analytics provider, to measure and improve the site.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, to protect the safety of people or property, or in connection with a reorganization of the organization. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

4. Cookies & analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device to help it work and to remember your preferences — for example, whether you chose light or dark mode. We use cookies and similar tools, together with analytics services, to understand general site usage, such as which pages are most visited.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being sent. Some parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you turn cookies off.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described here — for example, to maintain donation and tax records for the period required by law, or until you ask us to remove you from our lists. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or remove details that identify you.

6. Your choices & rights

You are in control of your information. You can:

  • Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
  • Update or correct your contact details by emailing us.
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it — subject to records we are required to keep, such as donation receipts for tax purposes.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in the section below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Photos & your likeness

Al-Maun sometimes takes photographs and video at our events — Humanitarian Day, the food pantry, workshops, and youth programs — and may use them on this website, in our newsletter, in grant reports, and on our social media to share the work and invite support. We do this with respect for the dignity of every neighbor pictured.

You are always free to say no. If you would rather not be photographed, just let a volunteer in a green apron know at any event and we will honor that. If a photo of you or your family is already on our site or social media and you would like it removed, tell us and we will take it down promptly — no explanation needed.

To request a photo be removed, email almaun@gmail.com with a short description of the photo and where you saw it, or use the photo-removal request on our Contact page. For photos of children, a parent or guardian can make the request on their behalf.

8. Children’s privacy

Our website is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Some Al-Maun youth programs do involve minors; in those cases we collect information directly from a parent or guardian, with their consent. If you believe a child has provided us information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites — for example partner organizations, our payment processor, or the “Get Healthy Clark County” nutrition challenge. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and significant changes may be noted on our website. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

11. How to contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or about your information, we’re glad to help.
